I don`t get the Metroid discontinuation. Other M won'y likely be out until holiday 2010. Ususally developers try and promote upcoming new games by offering their predecessors at a discount. They still have at least 8 months of selling the trilogy before they need to worry about the two games competing.
As for Player's Choice titles, you would think that Zelda, Galaxy, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, et al. would also need to be added to the list. Not to mention, I don't any of those games will stop being produced when their sequels come out. I just don't get Nintendo these days.
