And if they have a shield in their right hand LINK needs to either swing from his right to left to get to the body of the opponent. Or hit the opponents shield hard enough to lower/raise their shield and enable link to attack at the top/bottom. A simple parry/dodge system, where if u parry an enemies attack you open up his body for attack. Something like this could keep links combat realistic but very deep yet manageable and rewarding. |
Exactly! you are totaly on my train of thinking. I've been talking about the world interaction being shalow but the combat system is also shalow and needs beefing up! You make me think of something like Link from Soul Calibur. If Nintendo made link how he was made in Soul Calibur 2 the game would really take a whole new depth and go beyond current rpg and adventure fighting systems. Now that you mention it, I could forgo the ability to socialy interact with the world on a Fable II or Fable III level for this advenced fighting system.
If at first you don't succeed, you fail
