Impulsivity said: 10 things that make the PSN better. 1) it is 100% free and has the same capabilities as the 360 2) it includes a full internet browser. I have successfully used my PS3 to watch Hulu, listen to Pandora internet radio and more. This is WITHOUT installing Linux, which gives even more freedom to use the web on your console. I've had the amazing revolutions the 360 touts (for paying customers) like Twitter and Facebook for years now. 3) The PS3 has nearly unlimited space to store things and uses any 3rd party hard drive when you need more space. I have a 1TB drive in my release PS3 currently with over a hundred movies stored on the hard drive on top of tons of games and game installs. The 360 maxes out at 1/8th that amount and even that tiny 120GB hard drive costs well over 140 bucks which is about 3 times more then a 3rd party one. 4) The PS3 includes wireless, just like every modern electronics device other then the 360, which only has a 100 dollar adapter. 5) The 360 has no support for large scale gaming. All the big 360 games have small multiplayer matches (10-24 players) as the only choice available. There are multiple PS3 games that support upwards of 60 players currently. MAG, when it is released soon, will support over 10 times more players then any 360 game. 6) Though initially not great, home is getting much better. It is significantly better then the 360s virtual world app which doesn't exist outside paper doll avatars you see on your home screen. 7) I buy things when I want them, for real money instead of Microsoft points that don't convert right to dollars and are non refundable once purchased (and they have to be purchased in blocks which very seldomly are equal to the amount you want to spend on the item you want to buy) 8) My PS3 browses media from any number of UPNP devices I have around the house. The 360 needs specific proprietary solutions to share with PCs based around god awful software like Windows Media Player. Downloading and playing movies/games is also far easier, both because the PSN interface is better and because of not having to deal with the aforementioned points crap. 9) When you start up your PS3 your interface isn't nearly as cluttered with marketing junk. As if having to pay 50 bucks a year isn't enough. I don't care about gaming with Creed, I don't even like their music, why would I care to play call of duty with them? 10) If you had a 360 from Launch you would have spent over 250 dollars at a minimum for Xbox live. I still haven't paid a penny for my release day PS3 online. Luckily virtually every good 360 game is available for free online play on the PS3 or PC, the same is not true of the best PS3 games since they tend to be pure exclusives as opposed to, at best, "console exclusives". |
