They have a huge population base but
China's per capa GDP is still really low, and most of the wealth is going to a few people along the coast (Hong Kong, Bejing)
But on the other hand the economy is growing very fast and they have a lot of optimism which means they will spend money-
I think it is a toss up how well they do there I would say the Wii should sell around 40 million in China lifetime, giving the Wii a chance to hit 200 million world wide.
I think india is a bad Idea they are ranked among the bottom 2/3's of countries in the world to live.
Actually both China and India have large Middle classes and are growing at an amazing rate around 10 and 8 percent per year on average respectively, both countries, India especially have large amounts of poverty, but that is changing
PS2 sold that well because it had great exclusives that could sell the console.
Does Wii have that? I can only see SSBB, Mario Kart and Wii Fit, but, in my opinion, those will be released in the first semester of 2008. What then? What will sell Wiis during the Christmas of 2008?
Actually, my biggest concern has always been because of 2008. Nintendo will eventually meet demand next year. What games will be there to sell the system even more?
Actually next years games will probably be even bigger, but don't think in terms of games like on the PS2, think in terms of games like on the DS and the Wii, nongamer fare, plus if sales every begin to taper off, a quick drop to $199 will ignite sales again
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
