Sony did not copy nintendo with the motion wand. The development of their motion controller has been going for years now. Heck they preliminary showed 1 to 1 motion control back at sony e3 2005 while demostrating the playstation 3's capabilities. Heck they've even worked on motion control with the eyetoy. I find it very hypocritical for people picking on the motion wand for being a wii remote rip off while ignoring the fact that what natal does has already been done with the eyetoy.

Seriously?!

Sony's wand is a direct move to copy Nintendo's success, just as the late and poorly added six-axis really bad attempt for Sony to say they've always had it, lol. Both MS and Sony said the wiimote wasn't going to work and Wii would fail. Now that it obviously didn't fail, they both are introducing solutions of their own. Difference is Sony simply copied what Wii did in such a way that won't cause issues with patents, i.e. using the eyetoy and no nunchuk, while MS tried to do what they usually do and actually outdo what they are copying.

Also, your statement saying that Natal is equal to eyetoy simply shows your lack of understanding of the technologies. Natal is at its most basic idea the same as eyetoy as in cameras that can capture movement, but in reality eyetoy cannot do anywhere near the full functionality that Natal is going to be able to do because it doesn't sense depth, only flat images. That's a big difference. That is why the Wiimote alone is < the wand where as wiimote w/ WM+ is equal to the wand.

However, add in the nunchuk and Wii's design is still better than both of their ideas for the general wide variety of genres, imho.

2010 will sure be interesting to see Natal/Wand in finalized form with games.
