It's perhaps because even the market for those games isn't buying them as much. They've become a red ocean genre. Now they are low cost unlike FPS, but for stores that is irrelevant. The sales for those aren't as much because of the saturation. Plus more dedicated expanded market games, like Let's Dance (not partying, just dancing), We Cheer, are selling better, along with even "Core" games that actually sell to traditional gamers (like Modern Warfare).
For the retailers, those are better choices.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
