Sony will be pushing the envelope in all areas they work. It's what the big electronic companies have to do to stay competitive. Sony are very likely working on the next optical disc but i'd imagine 2015 at the earliest for it's introduction. Same with TV's for instance. Sony have next-gen OLED's already on sale. TV's that likely wont go mainstream until 2014 or something like that.
