no, I don't want Nintendo to acquire any studios. I'd rather them hire more young innovative workers and cultivate new development teams. This way they create new IPs and more internal studios that will produce Nintendo quality titles. Not only that, but it would be a lot cheaper. Sure it would take longer, but the overall effect would be better.

You're right, this is maybe the most important thing to do... but why could they not do everything?

Create new teams is a must when you only have 4000 employees, so true, but if they also buy some talented 2nd parties and make some deals with the best 3rd parties, then the line-up will GREATLY improve, in both quantity and quality, and in close future as well as in distant future (which then means, next gen)...

I'd like to see a less "passive" Nintendo anyway... they're givin' the impression to be glad with their own sales, and to no commit to anything happening in the industry around them: i'd wish to see a Nintendo tryin' to associate more and more people to their success, not only the very small indie teams on Wiiware and DSiware, but also some bigger teams (not the other giants, the ones "in between") on the retail market...

They have made nearly 20 billions of profits in the last 5 years, i just hope they'll make a great use of these to prepare the future, not only their own future, but also the future of the industry, especially in Japan where things are gettin' critical due to a population gettin' older and a shrinking market...

It's nice to know that Yamauchi-san (owner of 51% of Nintendo's shares) is now one of the richest man in Japan, but if that's the only good thing about Nintendo making billions, then i see no reason to care, AT ALL... i hope you see my point...  :)
