The DS is not a console it is a handheld. Technically it does not really count if it outsells the PS2 in ltd sales. But I believe the Wii has a 50% chance of eventually outselling the PS2 in ltd sales assuming the successor of the Wii is delayed and the Wii continues to outsell the PS2 in weekly sales.

The Wii trying to maintain its sales pace against the PS2 of last generation.
Important to note the Wii will achieve 100 million sales after 5 years. It took over 6 years for the PS2 to reach 100 million ltd sales.

If the DS is counted, all iterations of the Gameboy should be counted. The Gameboy sold a huge number of units over its lifetime and different iterations. 200 million Game boy units had been sold.

Handhelds are also consoles. Technically you can make any home console as handheld. Well, at least after you have small enough components. For example, there are some stores which sell Sega Genesis handhelds and someone has also created Dreamcast handheld mod.

Considering that GBA games don't work with any previous Gameboy iterations (different screen, CPU and GPU and RAM size), you can't count all Gameboy iterations together. You don't count whole Playstation line together either. GBA is just as similar to GBC/GB as PS2 is to PS1. If you separate GBA from GBC/GB then neither of them have reached 100 million.
