Why are threads like these allowed? They encourage trolling and can be considered trolling in and on themselves since the OP is almost always some kind of super inflammatory content and/or subject.
This is why I have no respect for Rol as a poster and never found him funny; he trolls using the same method, lures people into a snare, has a laugh about it and people get banned for getting upset (sorry to criticize him while he's gone but everyone here knows I feel this way anyway).

I ask again; why are these threads allowed? I'm not one to piss on your parade tarheel91 but I never see the humor in these. "Haha, you thought I was serious and you are now venting your stupid opinions openly so everyone can mock you!"
I don't like it, not one bit. One could say that its innocent fun but I don't, people get genuinely upset or even banned for considerable lengths of time over these threads sometimes.
Surely, there must be other ways of being "funny", look at d21lewis or amp316, those are two funny posters that don't mock, flamebait or troll anyone, its all goodhearted fun and games.

You might want to take that up with a mod, not make an issue of it in this thread.  They're just a PM away.  I will say that catching people isn't the sole point.  It's supposed to be funny on its own.  There are countless works of satire throughout literature which are funny despite no trying to "trap" anyone.  They generally try to make some point through it.  In my case, I was trying to bring out the terrible cherry picking and spinning that goes on in these forums (regardless of the user's console preference).  Honestly, anyone who gets tripped up despite my "I BLAME WII FIT" hint, a page full of Petz games, my use of a .2% decrease, manipulation of a news post, etc. deserves to be tripped up.

@Raze: Haha, ironic joke considering UNC sells more merchandise than any other sports team/college in the nation.  Oh, and I attend NC State, by the way.
