Secure your tin foil hats, everyone!
Okay, it's just a wild guess. Not even sure if it's true, but if so, that would make sense. Why try to make deals with all the developers when you just need a few retailers to make it hard for third parties to mistreat your system.
If this is true, Nintendo should then work on European retailers.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
