Its often quoted as a "dry solder" issue by those technicians who have fixed them.
Sony however have taken a leaf out of Microsofts book and refused to discuss exact cause.
Now if they only took another leaf and paid for all faulty units to be repaired for up to three years I think everyone would be a lot happier.
