The first 7 eipsode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann are pretty weak, it gets WAY more epic once you get to episode 7.

Maybe, but then it's a bad anime if it takes 25% of the anime to actually start. Code Geass is awesome from the first second, for example.

Though, I doubt I'd be able to stand the characters in the "good" part anyway, the story could get better, given, but the character would still be damn annoying
