I initially thought CES should have had a wand aspect to it. But after thinking about it a while I came to the conclusion that an expo that is broadly focussed on the wider electronics arena wouldn't be the right place to kick off the intense marketing. The gaming focussed expos are the places to put in serious hyping efforts and a late pring/early summer launch gives Sony 2 expos to start generating excitement, showcasing launch games and demonstrating further potential. A demo booth for casual titles and a demo booth for "hard core" gaming will get the tounges wagging, IF they can put some compelling software on display. But the compelling software HAS to be Wand control only, not optional sixaxis. People have got to want the game and thereby need to get the Wand to play it.
