In the end I guess a lot of people see videogames as escapism, in the same way a lot of people are only really interested in movies as escapist entertainment, which tends to angle their content away from more responsible behaviour or complex depth. I personally think there is a growing market for more complex experiences delivered by videogames, so am looking forward to seeing how well Heavy Rain pulls of its goals, and the idea of a game with more complex characters such as the great Denzel Washington in Training Day certainly appeals to me - I'd buy it! Particularly if Denzel delivered the voice over. |
