See, i think it's Microsoft and Nintendo who will move together (in fact, i'd bet their launches come in the same week, like GC/Xbox or Wii/PS3), and Sony who will move later. This coming generation is going to be about creating differences in hardware, and not so much about huge graphical leaps (though there will be improvements. Say to Crysis levels or so, and more about refinements, like getting 1080p 60 fps consistent, or something). Sony will be able to afford to wait, and get more profit out of the PS3 before they move on, as well as refine their hardware so they don't have such an untenable device at launch (considering if you paid for a launch PS3, you were paying for both a PS2 and a PS3, pretty much)
