Checkerbaord??

We don't know...

Will PS3 do 3D for gaming?
All games? Some games?
We don't know...

When is the Discovery 3D channel coming out?
We don't know...

If I was a sony stock holder I'd want to know these things.

I believe from CES I heard it will be horizontal shutter glasses at 120hz.

Their TVs will be capable of making 2D into 3D via wireless media hubs equipped with a cell processor they will sell with a couple of their TVs. I dunno if they will sell the set top box unit separately or only with a TV. This tech will be obviously inferior to TV, movies and games made for 3D in the first place, but it will still be 3D.

The PS3 will have 3D via the TVs mentioned above. I also heard they will have games made for 3D as well. So all games via those TVs that can 'upscale' but only some games will have full 3D.

That said, I am highly skeptical even in gaming if 3D is worth it for most games. I care about picture quality, but I don't give a crap if I can reach out and touch the picture. It's almost stupid. Then again, in some rare cases the 3D gives a depth of view that can greatly enhance the immersion.
