I played the orignal MG on the Nes and every single Metal Gear game since then (except the two PSP Ac!d games). I bought my PS3 the day MGS4 came out. It was my most anticipated game ever. And while it was a good game, it was the first time a Metal Gear title didn't blow me away at all. And I liked Snake's Revenge!!
