Personally I never found a problem with long cut-scenes, but that's just me, I like cut-scenes if they are well executed and get me enthralled in them.
Plus, it depended on how you played the game. On the Big Boss difficulty, you didn't even had time to see the cutscenes if you wanted to complete it perfectly, so it was pure game time xD
