OH LORD.
1. With a firmware update the PS3 will be a 3d game AND 3d Blu-ray player, so if you want 3d games AND movies buy a PS3.
2. Pseudo 3d is not anything compared to true 3d. Example: in a scene in a room where there is no camera movement, the fake 3d software will have a hard time figuring out the placement of objects in 3d space. For instance, try to convert a static nature photo from 2d to 3d! It will also make 3d mistakes on all material, and games, which would annoy the hell out of me. (I've been into 3d all my life, I have a Victorian age stereo scope, a 3d adapter for my old pentax, and I played Half life 1 with 3d shutter glasses years ago.
3. Sony could add pseudo 3d to the PS3 with a firmware update to upscale 2d to 3d also, but...
4. Pseudo 3d will suck compared to a true 3d source. There will be 'card board cut outs' of objects in the scene instead of true complicated 3d objects.

As far as buying a 3d tv, which I plan on doing this year, i'll wait for the reviews to come in on ALL 3d sets, Sony, toshiba, Pani, even HDI's new Laser (the coolest so far) before I decide which set to buy. And remember, it has to have great 2d specs also.

5. So why is Sony doomed again? They will have the best 3d player, the PS3, they will have 3d tvs, they may have 2d-3d firmware (but so what). If your worried about 2d to 3d upscaling by toshiba, relax, it won't be exclusive and it will suck compared to a true 3d source, period.
