Killing Mario is like trying to kill Halo or Gran Turismo off. Flagship franchises die generally based on self-inflicted damage. Nothing else will generally kill them off. LittleBigPlanet tries, but it isn't the same. It is its own thing, and a cool game, but doesn't kill Mario off at all.
