2- Not being able to melee while reloading I would agree with because you can't really rely on your sidearm if you get caught mid-reload. Since the pistol feels so useless, I hardly feel the need to upgrade any of the sidearm skills so I don't know if the pistol actually becomes more of a capable backup or how the SMG sidearm performs instead of the pistol.

You did a much better job organizing your response than I did lol. But as for this issue I have to disagree with you. If your knife could easily kill someone in close quarters and your pistol was nearly as powerful as your primary weapon what would be the point of having to reload in games? Why not just use infinite ammo? I believe the whole point of reloading is to put you at a significant disadvantage for that short period of time. That's how it is in real life and that's how it should be in the game. The only problem is that you get used to knifing from previous games (coughCODcough) that you start to rely on it sometimes. I'm not certain, but I do believe, or at least until a certain time period, but the average soldier did not even get a side arm let alone a giant swift one hit kill knife.

I'm not talking about it being as powerful as your primary weapon or having unlimited ammo, just that at base abilities, your pistol is very weak in that it takes too long to pull out and it's rate of fire is low (not to mention the fact that I think using a pistol with dual analog is suicide). Like I said, I haven't invested in the secondary weapon (don't they call it personal defense?) abilities so I don't know how much the pistol can improve by shooting and reloading faster nor do I know how good or bad the secondary SMG is instead of the pistol.

I can understand the whole knifing thing because I'm not a big fan of the whole Call of Duty lunge forward and 1 hit kill everything attack. You're only option in MAG if you want to interrupt your reload is to switch to your sidearm so you can either fire it or knife. Thus, I may experiment with putting a point in the faster switch speed to see how that works.

Heck, I'd be satisfied with being able to interrupt a reload with a melee using the butt of the gun that does less damage than a knife could, but at least you'd be able to interrupt your reload and respond in some way to an attacker.
