"On the other hand I sort of see this as the best potential a Wii war shooter type thing could sell."

Call of Duty's brand name is on the 360 and PS3. It's not that strong on the Wii yet, because this is the first MW game on it, which is what made CoD strong on those systems.

At this point with the advertising and marketing that was done, CoD is global franchise and I don't think the non core gamers that saw ads during his footbal game necessary payed attention to which platform the game was released on...

The public at large is aware of the CoD brand ( the huge coverage the release  got on TV and in the press helped that too)...

Look guys, I think Ail has a point. It has climbed on the marketing of MW2 a little.

However, MWR would  sell better with its own marketing campaign that illustrates its strengths. The little Wii sound effect and all that does have an impact, I am sure of this. You have to concede, Ail, that showing MWR with someone playing it using the Wiimote is more effective than showing the graphics of a different game altogether. Showing its customisation and the online mayhem would have helped too.

A sustained campaign of WaW did not happen either and thus the features that are advertised within the main campaign become the reasons to buy it. That is shiny graphics, crazy online play and so on. This did not differentiate to show off the Wii's strengths in any sustained way.
