Talk about mis-representing what ND has said, and the direct quote is even in the article. Here is what the ND dude actually said:

"It really feels that sometimes it’s this bottomless pit of processing power,"

See that? "it... feels that sometimes..." how does that turn into "PS3 has INFINATE POWAH!!!!!"?

Until you reach the bottom of a deep pit of which no one has seen the bottom it feels like a bottomless pit. Big revelation that. If people read ND's comment as anything other than a figure of speech they are looking to make some mischief IMO.

I think given ND have done a lot of optimisation work between their first PS3 title and their 2nd, and they feel like there is more optimisation yet to be done I'm more inclined to go with ND's assessment of the PS3's capabilities than Kojima's. Sure Uncharted1 isn't comparable to MGS4 (I assume, never having played MGS4), but by all accounts Uncharted 2 is more than comparable, in what way do you think MGS4 stretched the PS3 to capacity that Uncharted 2 didn't? If its BD space then even this is being given a boost with 33GB per layer coming as opposed to 25GB per layer.

Interesting that it was MW2 which got Kojima excited about PS3 development again. Perhaps as a 3rd party dev he was looking to see what other 3rd party games could do with the PS3, as opposed to looking at what KZ2 and Uncharted 2 achieved.

Edit: If Kojima is interested in taking 10 steps forward with a single game perhaps he is better off looking at making a PC exclusive? I dunno
