I hope they evolve the system that they used for online play in GT5:P, while it was good, it did have some faults here and there, the main one was the annoying penalty system, which many people took advantage off, since they would bump you and use the lag so the system would recognize as you being the infractor >_<.

I agree with you in the part of hype machines, I don't like them myself, in my opinion one should appreciate the games for what they are after giving them a try.

But I disagree with you on the second part, the demo may not have been impressive in the graphical department, which was never the case, but it was impresssive in the physics and racing department, at least to me it was a few steps above of what other racing games have offered me, when i'm playing with all the assists off. The Nissan 370z handled like a real FWD car with high binary and high rotations and mid-range BHP engine, and that experience was pretty good. 

But in the end, it all comes down to personal appraisal of what they found in the Time Trial, I agree that some people weren't thrilled by it, it wasn't an accesible experience.
