I red some reviews about the game  and it seems that everyone thinks the game is linear and repetitive...If that's the case then I'm very disappointed, because what i always liked most in FF (apart from the plot and the characters)  was the free exploration of the world map...The first blow for me was the departure of composer Nobuo Uematsu, and now this....I dont want Final Fantasy to turn into an action game series.Ive no problem with the action spin offs(even though i never buy em,many people seem to like them),I just want the series to keep the elements that give it Depth.

Sales were great on the first week as expected ,but the second week decline was major, and it may be linked to the changes I mentioned before.I was waiting for this game for Years, and it was the main reason I bought a PS3 back in '07,so I don't want it to be a game that is gonna be forgotten in 6 months...Any Objections to what I'm writing or any comments are welcome,I want to hear peoples opinions about what's goin on,even predictions are welcome.

P.S. Sorry if my english suck,I'm from Greece.

Mmm... don't forget that a lot of the PS1 Final Fantasies were pretty linear, too. I was recently playing Final Fantasy VII again, and even though there's a world map, there's not a lot you can do until you get the Tiny Bronco. You just keep moving to the next place. Same thing with Final Fantasy VIII and IX, too. They're actually pretty linear, you just don't notice. And regarding Uematsu, he's a great composer, but Hamauzu is very good, too. But you know, honestly, I bet most people don't even have the ear to notice a difference. (Not a dig on you, just saying in general.)

I actually like Final Fantasy XIII a lot. It's very similar to Final Fantasy X. If you liked X, you'll probably like XIII. (I hope.) You might be a little put off by how the battle system looks, but it's actually a lot of fun, mixing the AI parts of FFXII, the changing jobs mid-fight of FFX-2, and the general ATB system of VII. The upgrade system is actually sort of comparable with Materia, I think. You equip them and feed them scrap items which cause them to level up. But now I'm just rambling. Rent it if you're hesitant. It's worth at least that.

Also, pretty much all Final Fantasies drop sharply in sales the second week, it's not a big deal. Everyone that wanted it got it as soon as possible, pretty much. That's all.
