Halo:Reach will sell more ltd copies than Gran Turismo 5. Halo series is now the biggest exclusive non-Wii console brand name this generation. Halo:ODST released last September an expansion pack has sold around 4 million and counting. Halo 3 sold over 10.5 million and counting. Gran turismo 5: prologue released early 2008 has sold below 4 million. Gran Turismo series was big on PS1/2 but the market has changed this generation. FPS games have taken over. "Console exclusive" is the key phrase: Mass effect 2, Splinter Cell: conviction and Alan Wake will actually sell more genuine copies on the 360 than the PC. PC gaming is plagued by bootleg copies and you have to have a fairly powerful machine to run the latest games these days. |
I would think selling 4 million copies for something that is little more than a "demo" is pretty darn good
