I agree, there no reason why it shouldnt if its the same image quality and flicker free. 2D viewing wasnt invented in thinking it would be better than 3D. It was only a question of technology.
"Sony said that it will license television rights to current and future 3D films, plus music- and game-related 3D content."
Its time to purchase some Sony's stock.
