That was my mistake since most adventure games today are action adventure, I just thought it would assume the general position. Anyway, Akvod was still wrong because Davd Cage said in his opinion adventure games are dead. I disagree....and adventure games are alive and well in the form of Alan Wake. Given it has a twist or horror and suspense. :) |
David Cage can think whatever the fuck he thinks, it won't change the game he made itself, and its gameplay mechanics. Just like Uwe Boll saying his movies are masterpieces, or George W. Bush saying his war is just doesn't make it.
Here I can call "Akvod's Adventure" an RTS. Reading my description of it, would you say "You're the boss"? No.
I can't believe you're willing to put a murky modern game (which incorporates many genres) like Alan Wake in the adventure category, with its combat and shooting gameplay, when Heavy Rain doesn't have an ounce of that. The most combat you'll be doing are pressing triangle or circle in the QTE.
Stop avoiding the question by quoting David Cage and answer the 2 fundamental questions:
1) What is the core definition of an adventure game?
2) How does Heavy Rain fit under it?
