Well I'm not going by any personal defintion of the words if that is what you mean. I'm going by the dictionary defintions. All this putting down of the Wii by the gaming press is clearly not respect or recognition, nor is the lack of support from third parties (not that they should drop support for the HD systems, but give support to the Wii as well). |
I don't recall seeing any major publications "putting down" the wii, to an acceptable frequency that that term should be used, since its 1st year. It's generally accepted as the undisputed market leader this gen by gaming press. Except your idea of "putting down" is different from mine or you think "ignoring" something is the same as "putting [it] down". 3rd parties have their own business to run and we're are in no place to tell them where to throw their support. Not releasing a wii game =/= not recognizing it/respecting it's accomplishments. If I recall correctly, even naughty dog praised the wii recently as posted in a thread on this site. Doesn't that qualify as respect/recognition even though they most certainly would never release a wii game?

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
