I believe that only Others is now price sensitive.

The US has decided and Japan has decided.

The gap in the US is now higher than it was the day before the PS3 slim launched, that speaks volumes.

Put a 199$ PS3 and see how sensitive americans get.   Japan is probably the only market where no matter what one console doesn't take off.

The next price PS3 price tag will probably be $249 most likely for 2011. $199 sounds like a 2012 price tag for PS3.

2010 sales for the PS3 will be lucky to match the 13 million PS3 sales in 2009. No PS3  price cuts are expected for 2010. God of War 3, FFXIII and Gran Turismo 5 all released in first half of 2010. No idea what PS3 games are coming for holiday period in 2010. PS3 sales may have peaked in 2009 with 13 million. 2010 could equal it. 2011 will be lower than 2010. 

The 3rd year of a console's lifespan is generally always the peak for a console system. The only exception to that rule Wii peaked in its second year with around 24 million sales in 2008.
