Actually it does, you think Wii isn't threatening the PS3 and 360? If that were true, there would be no NATAL and wand, the NATAL and Wand are what Christensen of the Harvard Business school calls an incumbent counterattack, they are trying to fend off the Wii with NATAL and the wand, unfortunately for them, their attempts will fail. This is about the values of the industry, and NATAL and Wand prove that the old values are dying, and this is their last ditch effort to try and co-opt the values of the Wii, unfortunately their motivations and strengths are too different for them to co-opt the Wii. What we are seeing is the midgame of the disruption, after NATAL and the wand fail it'll be over, textbook Christensen. |
I dont think that the Wand and Natal has anything to do with the Wii threatening the other console. Its more like Sony and Microsoft realize that there can be a wider audience with motion control. It doesnt seem like theyre doing this to secure there audience. What they probably want is to have a piece of the casual/kid gamer out there. Or in another word, have something to appeal to non current gamer. They would perfectly be able to sustain their console without it. But im not sure I should argue with you anyway. You have prove times and times again to be particularly unreceptive to others opinions.
