Why is this topic in Sony discussion instead of Sales or Gaming? :(

Because 2010 is the year of the PS3 dood!!!!

Just like 2009, no wait that was year of the Wii, then 2008, no wait, Wii again, 2007, no Wii again, 2006, Wii as well

Hmmmmmmm...

Also I find it funny people think PS3 will fall off less than Wii, hasn't this holiday taught you anything about where PS3 is in relation to the Wii?

Most person does not compare to the Wii because it is clearly not for the same audience.  Once Xbox and PS3 will release their motion controller to gather casual, children as-well as "normal gamer", only then will make sense to compare to Wii sales. Now I wouldnt get in a debate if 360 or PS3 will have a better year tho.

Actually it does, you think Wii isn't threatening the PS3 and 360? If that were true, there would be no NATAL and wand, the NATAL and Wand are what Christensen of the Harvard Business school calls an incumbent counterattack, they are trying to fend off the Wii with NATAL and the wand, unfortunately for them, their attempts will fail. This is about the values of the industry, and NATAL and Wand prove that the old values are dying, and this is their last ditch effort to try and co-opt the values of the Wii, unfortunately their motivations and strengths are too different for them to co-opt the Wii. What we are seeing is the midgame of the disruption, after NATAL and the wand fail it'll be over, textbook Christensen.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
