Visually it was one of the most impressive films I've seen and I can only think of a few others that can match up to it. Cameron succeeded in creating a beautiful, believable alien world and the 3-D was fantastic (in fact I don't think I could watch the film again unless it was in 3-D). In my opinion it's a must see film at the cinema (definately in 3-D).

The film wasn't perfect though, as others have said in this and other Avatar threads, the story was lacking some inovation. There was nothing really new but more disappointingly it was entirely predictable. That doesn't take too much away from the film though as everything which was done was done well. The acting was solid, the story held your attention and Cameron created characters which, although cliched, you actually cared about (take note Mr Bay). Also it is probably a little naive to think that he could really have done anything more complex with the story/characters as the film cost so much money to make it had to be accessible to as wide an audience as possible.
