nightsurge said: 3rd. 360 will see another big momentum swing just like in 2008. Its amazing how short sighted fanboys are and how quickly they forget what happened in the past. All they see is recent sales and think those mean nothing can change in the future. |
the only reason that happened is because x360 got a price cut and ps3 did not, if it got a price cut back then it would have kept up with xbox last year, this year xbox has more than 1 price cut and ps3 has had 1 price cut and a new model but has managed to outsell the x360, that is impressive, more people can now afford a ps3, so the competiton is not going to be so easy from now on.
Tell you what i am willing to make a bet with you that PS3 outsells X360 (world wide) right up to christmas 2010 (brave bet to make lol)

I'll take that bet if you like, there is no way Sony will price cut in 2010 to respond to Microsoft's. A lot of people on here stated how big the effect of those Walmart gift cards were too, personally that shows me there is a demand out there for a cheaper console still too. My answer to the poll is third but I'd have gone with tied second had I got the option because thats about all both the 360 and PS3 will be when the generation ends.

oh go on then, I might end up losing, but it will be some fun either way;) you get to control my sig for a month if u win lol, you might have to tell me how to do that, as i'm not to sure how to do it yet lol

I'll take that be too. As far as your argument, it is the same this year that it was last year. I could say the same thing that if the 360 had a price cut this year it would have kept up with the PS3. This year the PS3 had both a $100 cut on the entry model and a redesign. The only thing that happened for the 360 was a shift of the Elite model to replace the Pro. Not exactly a real price cut if you ask me as the price of entry didn't change. There were one or two very short exclusive deals like the Walmart giftcard and the $50 rebate, but that again was no price cut. You had to pay $200 to buy the Arcade still, the gift card could not be used on that purchase. If anything it was a $200 "Pro" if they used that gift card on the most obvious choice being the 60gb starter pack.
Next year will be a repeat of 2010, because MS will be the one hitting everything in the Fall 2010 time frame. Natal, Halo: Reach, price cuts, etc. Sony won't be in any shape to match price cuts by next year already.
