Regarding the comparison to Titanic, Avatar has at least three advantages (one of which hasn't been mentioned yet I think):
- inflation
- higher priced 3D tickets
- a weaker US dollar (which makes overseas revenue higher when converted to dollars)
Anyway, I'm really happy this movie is making a profit as I want to see a sequel.
