^ It's just not something you'd expect from Nintendo at this point.
Going HD and 3D does require a certain level of technology that Nintendo's userbase is going to have to purchase. Remember that many Wii owners are non-gaming grandpas and grandmas, overweight moms, and ex-gamers. Technology alone is not going to justify the purchase of a new system for them. There's going to have to be something more than that.
