Maybe my sarcasm detector is broken???
I don't understand why your are acting like it's expensive? or why it would alienate the user base when it's optional? It's expensive for the TV, but the cost of going HD, it's not much more expensive, and you could still play games on regular TVs just fine.
That said, I see no reason for a new consoles for another 5 or 6 years, but when it comes out, it makes sense for it to be supported as it doesn't really change the costs beyond going 1080p or are you suggesting that the next console doesn't support 1080p?
Actually it must just be a broken sarcasm detector as motion controls are more immersive than higher resolution, so Nintendo must want that.
