" They've not backed down on that stance, because RE5 still isn't announced on the Wii :/. I don't believe Capcom have said a RE5 port is possible, just that it would be possible to put RE5 on Wii in some form (Which I have never said wasn't possible, just that a port isn't possible)."

"I only really see that as a bit of marketing spin"

Liar. You're just claiming that because it's what you don't want to hear. HD is not some magical barrier that makes the games beyond what SD systems can do (save for very few, which I doubt you even know what they are). HD is just a way to make games more expensive and so that developers can pretend they're being moviemakers instead of game developers.

Explain to me where Capcom have said it's possible to port RE5 to the Wii? Nowhere, urgh.

The fact that no one puts their PS360 games on the Wii is enough proof that it's not technically possible to port them. To put them on the console in some form would involve the whole 'Dead Rising' style rebuild (Which Capcom are imo refering to in that one quote), which isn't an appealing route to go down for numerous reasons.

You've continually taken what I've said out of context and tried to spin it into something I'm not saying. All I've said from the start is that porting a game from a HD console to the Wii isn't possible - as the topic asking was asking why those games hadn't been ported. I base this simply on what developers from various companies have said time and time again, whereas your counter argument was built on the idea that 'companies are stupid'.
