For fans of the back and forth bickering between Van damme and Dolph, I could see how the movie may not live up to expectations. But this is really a different type of a movie than the first one... A lot more serious, violent.
The way I see it is...they didn't have to put dolph in there and the movie would have still been solid. Having Dolph in the movie only made it better, even if he is in it for 10 minutes.
