I think having the PS3 selling more than the XBOX 360 for an extended period (3 months) when it is more expensive than the 360 is telling of it's market position going into 2010.
I mean think about the potential for both consoles right now, the exclusive system sellers for each console in the first half are clearly in the PS3's favour in terms of selling systems. Also Gem, system seller or not or will be out long before Natal. The 360 will have a slow year until Q3. The PS3 will have another good year, at least as good as 2009 before it begins it's decline.
This is the largest the Wii will be, we've just seen it's absolute sales peak, what'll be more important for Nintendo going forward now is how to prolong the life of the console so that they can enter the next generation when they feel it's the right time, and not be forced into it prematurely. Moving upmarket (MotionPlus titles, Retro Studio I.P, Metroid, Zelda, DQX etc) and also the Vitality Sensor will be very important in keeping Wii dominant.
It's been a strange generation.. 2nd year peaks for market leaders, 4th year peaks for other consoles (consoles which are very competitive historically speaking)
