Come on now, the idea that Kojima being a better developer than Miyamoto is just laughable. Looking at entire careers, I have a time believing some people think this.

frankly, Miyamoto isnt that great. He is mostly a one trick pony that people doesnt seem to get sick of.He isnt in the same league as John Carmack, Sid Meyers, Gabe Newell, or any of the other highly respected leaders in the industry. To put things lightly, most indie developers make better and more innovative games then Miyamoto has in over a decade.

I would agree with you BUT. Theres one thing you're overlooking. Each main entry of Zelda and Mario are completely different then the last since the jump to 3D.

Also, OOT was, imho, a great revamping of the series on the SNES, and one of my favorite games ever made. Also, Zelda II was completely different from the first game....

I mean, yeah bro, at the very least MGS AND the Mario/Zelda series' are all great, and opinion comes down to which one is best.....not fact....also, one thing that I'm against is the "what have you done for us lately" argument. I think of it as "what have you done for gaming, and how have you changed gaming?" Has Kojima changed gaming? Miyamoto has, numerous times, correct?

It can be argued that it was Kojima's games that created and/or revitalized the stealth Genre. We can also safely say that because of Kojima games have started to take a more cinematic apporach to the way they deliever their story-telling. Miyamoto is great but when defending him please don't try and take anything away from Kojima-san.

I personally believe they both can be mentioned in the same breath together because of their body of works....Gabe Newell on the other hand I don't think so.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
