Avatar passes 1 billion dollars in sales in just over 2 weeks

James Cameron is the first director to have 2 1 billion+ grossing movies. He will also have the top 2 grossing of all time (this and Titanic).

If he turns this into a trilogy like he said he might, if it was successful, there is potential for two more billion+ for him.
