Don't play Techno/Trance tracks (it's great, but not at house parties!). You need to create and maintain 'good mood'. A pro DJ would be able to mix Techno and Trance tunes properly. By all means, do not ruin your party by playing techno and trance tracks! Also if you're going to play 'Electronica' make sure to play remix'd versions 'custum made' for House Parties.Your friends are into "house dancing". What they want is proper House Music AKA 'Party Music' they can dance to. These days it's all bout Electro House. If things don't work out, play some Beastie Boys. Good Luck with your party! :D
