You sure it wasn't just an improved version of the formula of Castlevania 2? Come on guys. Nintendo is great. But not all video game ideas originate from them. |
EXACTLY, it's funny how everything has to originate from either Zelda, Mario and Metroid somehow some way, and how Miyamoto is god. It is the same thing over and over again with the Wii fan base. Seems they have forgotten about Castlevania 1 then Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest which tried to be different. SOTN incorporated elements from both those games and stayed true to the franchise. Hell we can also say that Ninty took alot of their ideas from C64 and Atari 2600. Remember pitfall? remember the C64 popeye game ported to the NES? lol.
So as he stated no, SOTN didn't ripoff Metroid, it simply took from it's own set of games and improved upon the formula and made a masterpiece that many publications and sites consider SOTN to be in its own league.
Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)
I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/ hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
