I think you should guys should consider the numbers within each individual region and not just the global figures.
For example, in Japan, PS3 dominates the Xbox360. However, in America, the 360 still outsells the PS3 (within a margin of error).
If the 360 userbase continues to grow into 2008, we may see major Japanese publishers (Square Enix and Konami) announce ports of popular PS3 titles onto the 360. Thus, PS3 will lose it's only advantage it has in regions outside of Japan.
Similarly, major American and European publishers like EA and Ubisoft are already ensuring that their games appear on both platforms.
In my opinion, the software lineup this X'mas for PS3 is very weak. PS3 needs it's MGS4 and FFXIII in order to overcome the 360.
