i liked the story once i read about the backstory on the internet, i was "ohhhh so THATS why" the backstory is huge, i don't know why they didn't add it to the game but its probably the same tactic used to WRPGs , WRPGs backstory is not told fully in the game, which makes people enjoy "Discovering" it from multiple sources or books.

They DID add the backstory to the game

They talk about it constantly

i know, but not all of it, did you know the origins of the gods and why that one god rebelled and all that?

Yes! It's right there in the bestiary, specifically in the Esper entries!

If you want to go back even further you'd look in the alternatives bestiary entries for other monsters, which are unlocked after killing a certain number of each beast. But the whole plot is right in there!

I'm glad they didn't weave that stuff in the main plot. It wouldn't have made sense and would have been way, waaaay too clunky.

yeah thats what im saying its a back story they didn't put it in the game's plot (ie the characters talk about it). like how WRPGs do it. you know how in elder scrolls you find a book and read it ?

its also nice that it was related to Tactics and Vagrant story in some way. i really liked that about FFXII , and alot of people missed it , it seems.

i personally read all about it on an internet site ( this ) , didn't get to read all the esper entries.
