Well it's not that. It's that I am constantly CONSTANTLY reading about "must-have" games of the year, and all these great experiences, and most of them end up being FPS. Also, since PS3 is currently all about how great things can look, and "compare this to Xbox360" and "witness the power of the cell processor!" ...I don't want to miss out on something that truly is a great visual experience. I do want to see what the cell processor can do, and most likely the first game to really prove that point will (probably) be an FPS shooter.
EDIT: by the way, has any developer truly released a bug-fix patch on a console game yet? They do it all the time on PC, but I am horrified and mortified that glitchy, buggy software is still almost a year old and no patches exist for a game released on a hard drive-featured console with broadband support. You would think poorly-reviewed games that falter in the controls/camera department would get online patches to help the game along.
