Pharaoh said: If Fable was on ps3 I wouldn't have bought a 360 in the first place. So I guess you could say games. Mainly Halo, which still, to my dismay people praise as the best shooter. I still dont get why it sells so much in the US over the ps3. At launch I could see why the 360 sold better, because it was the only system on the market. When the ps3 launched it still outsold it, which is understandable and not at all surprising. But now that it is the same price, with a much better value and future and current game line up I don't understand it. The rest of the world understands this value, but not us in the US for some reason. |
If better value was the decisive factor then the original xbox would have done much better. Its specs were twice that of the PS2 and it showed in its exclusives such as Fable and Halo 2. And I think that is still the problem, the PS3 might be better in terms of value but when most games are multiplatform the better consoles in terms of hardware whether it is the original xbox or the PS3 cant show what it can do. Now the PS3 also has BLu-Ray but research shows that most people are unaffected by Blu-Ray either because they think it is too soon or because they believe something better will come. So if people dont want to buy Blu-Ray discs then a build in Blu-Ray player wont make them buy a PS3. The 360 is a strong enough console (like the PS2), plays all the multiplayer games, has good exclusives and now enough owners to make people want to buy it ebcause friends have it aswell. So there is no reason why the 360 shouldnt be doing just as great as the PS3. I think the PS3 will beat it eventually simply because it is the PLAY STATION III and the brand is important. Still Microsoft has shown great improvement this gen so next gen should be even more interesting.
