I second that this title should say "there are a few jrpg fans, but a lot of FF fans." Several western rpgs have hit the mainstream. Morrowind and Oblivion, Fallout, KOTOR and Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fable, etc. And you can make the case for Bioshock and Borderlands as well since they are hybrid FPS/wrpg games. Also keep in mind that it's not like western rpgs only started to become popular with Morrowind and KOTOR. Diablo, which sold several millions, was probably the first wrpg to really hit the mainstream (and in the west, it's more popular than Final Fantasy). It's just that wrpg elitists like to say that Diablo isn't an rpg even though Diablo was clearly influenced by Moria and other rogue-likes and dungeon crawlers, which are without a doubt RPGs.
